Welcome to January 2015’s Rainmaker Platform News!
This month, we’re talking about the impending launch of our services division and integrated email autoresponders in the Platform.
At Your Service
We’ve worked hard to make Rainmaker functional and intuitive enough to build your site without outside assistance. And we’re continuing to work on making it even more powerful with less hassle.
But sometimes, you do need outside help. And it may not be obvious who you can turn to.
Soon, you’ll be able to turn to us. We’re rolling out a services division that will offer reasonably-priced help with things like:
- Site setup
- Content imports
- Member migration
- CSS tweaks
- Simple code solutions
- Theme coding from your designer’s mockup
- Podcast setup/import
Before we start offering these services, we’d like to gauge demand. So, if (and only if) you’re interested in getting help in the near term, please complete the following survey:

This is only the first phase, so your feedback and interest level is much appreciated!
Coming soon: Email Autoresponders
We announced the Rainmaker Email Service in one of our most recent feature upgrades.
That feature is still in beta, but it is about to take another next exciting step.
Coming soon, in the next Rainmaker Platform release, you will also be able to set up and send autoresponder sequences, triggered based on any timeline you choose.
How it will work
Simply and intuitively, with a few fun bells and whistles. In other words, exactly as you’d hope and expect. 🙂
You will be able to choose from one of three templates (Course, Sales, or Newsletter with Offer) or begin from scratch:
If you choose a template, you will have four pre-populated emails to start with. Each of the emails will, of course, require your customization, but they were designed by Chris Garrett and members of our Editorial team to give you as powerful a head start as possible.
You will be able to remove emails, add additional emails, and edit both the subject line and content all right there from the same screen.
You will also be able to preview the email right on the screen in a pop-up window and send a test email to see how it looks out in the wild.
Most importantly, you will be able to set the precise times when your emails are sent — immediately or with a defined delay based on hours, days, or weeks. And when you do this, your emails will automatically arrange themselves to be in chronological order. (This is Chris Garrett’s favorite feature!)
Once you are satisfied that your email is ready for prime time, all you will have to do is toggle the status from inactive to active. (This is Rafal Tomal’s favorite feature.)
Then, after you have activated all of your emails, you will hit Publish and your autoresponder sequence will be activated immediately!
If you need to pause it, you will simply unpublish the sequence. Then you can edit your emails and republish when the sequence is ready again.
And for those of you who are creating courses using the LMS, you may be wondering if there will be a way to automatically link your course drip with an autoresponder. Not right away. But … there are already development plans in place for this, and it’s going to be fantastic. 🙂 Stay tuned …
Important note
Remember: this will still be a beta feature once it’s released. That’s why it’s in Rainmaker Labs. So, we do not recommend it for mission-critical emails.
We will have tested it extensively before releasing into Labs, but there still could be a bug or two that reveals itself based on your particular usage.
While we can’t provide support for Labs features, we do encourage you to try this new tool out once it’s ready. Put it through its paces.
And if you have any feedback to give us about your experience with the Autoresponder tool, or any other Labs feature, we would appreciate it as we continue to fine-tune it for full platform integration.
To provide feedback, please email [email protected]
We’ll be back in your inbox once the next Rainmaker Platform release is ready (so you know when the Autoresponder tool is live) and then again next month with the next Rainmaker Platform newsletter.
Have a great weekend.
